Delicious extravagances and wild treats: Celebrate International Burger Day!
International Burger Day was celebrated yesterday. Here are our top 12 burger recommendations for every day of the year.
Dixie, Tel Aviv
Chef Haim Cohen’s American-Israeli meat institution is celebrating with a week-long stretch featuring an indulgent and extravagant comeback from the past.
The special menu, available from Tuesday to Saturday (May 28-June 1), alongside the restaurant's already decadent daily offerings, includes three major hits from the past: the "Highway 90 Burger" (a beef burger stuffed with lamb bacon strips and topped with aged Gouda, NIS 95 with toppings), remembered fondly from Cohen’s collaboration with Boaz Biderman’s northern restaurant and Chef Ran Sasson; the "Big Burger" (two 200-gram patties with home fries cubes and a sunny-side-up egg on top, and onion rings on the side, NIS 95); and the Surf & Turf Tower (a 250-gram patty with shrimp in butter-garlic sauce and a generous addition of fried calamari with basil aioli, NIS 102).
The Garage
The very indulgent restaurants in Tel Aviv and Rishonim Interchange celebrate with their famous ticket—lots of meat, and then some more meat.
The party centerpiece is a meter-long burger, available on Tuesday (May 28) in a very limited edition (reliable rumors speak of fifty such portions per location), in three versions: as is (NIS 345), with cheddar and lamb bacon (NIS 399), and the flagship version, which also adds fried mac and cheese balls on top (NIS 444). This madness naturally comes with triple fries (meter-long potato fries too, for consistency) and a soft drink or a third of a beer for all table diners.
Rova Wine Bar, Hod Hasharon
The cheerful wine bar celebrates Burger Day with a special trio that will be added to the regular classic and run at least until the end of the month.
Here you'll find the "Chef Burger" (a burger with Brie cheese, onion-chili jam, crispy sweet potato, arugula, and aioli, with a side of baked sweet potato), "America" (a burger with cheddar, pineapple, pepperoni, and jalapeno in a brioche bun with Tabasco aioli, and a side of fries), and "Champion's Burger" (chicken in beer and cornflakes tempura with chipotle aioli, lettuce, leek, onion, and sweet chili, with a side of fries, of course).
Agadir
The veteran Israeli chain combines Burger Day and Pride Month into one big, colorful, and inclusive celebration.
At the heart of this event is the "Pride Burger," a special created in collaboration with Tom Schneid. The dish—Pride bun with the famous flag on top, burger, arugula and red oak lettuce, avocado slices in sesame soy and ginger vinaigrette, purple onion ring, and aioli—will cost NIS 69, with part of the proceeds going to Beit Dror, a hostel for at-risk LGBTQ youth.
Simultaneously, Agadir and Schneid will launch a special podcast under the excellent concept of eating burgers and talking about pride.
Zuk Farm
The meat restaurant in North Tel Aviv celebrates patties and buns with its regular indulgences and a festive mood.
You can find here a butchers' burger based on Holstein beef, "Dirty Burger" with smoked corned beef, onion jam, cheddar, Gruyere, truffle mayo, and greens, "Stinky" (with smoked duck breast and blue cheese), "The Spoiler" (with Boursin cheese, onion rings, confit garlic, and pickled onion), and a vegan refined burger.
McDonald's
The American burger giant is ready for the special day with a new launch and an exciting comeback.
The "Alabama" rib-eye burger with white BBQ sauce joins the chain's premium series, teasing you to wait until Thursday (May 30) at NIS 58 for a meal.
Meanwhile, McDonald's will bring back (from June 6, also for a limited time, take note) one of its legendary desserts—its famous apple pie, featuring a crispy dough shell with a fruity-cinnamon filling that somehow disappeared from the menu a year and a half ago. Price: NIS 9.
Butcher's Burgers, Tel Aviv
The kosher eatery from Dubai is expanding just in time for the annual celebrations, planting a meaty foot in the DNA complex on the ground floor of the Azrieli Mall.
You can find here, among other things, "Classic Slider" (two smash patties with a choice of topping), "Patron Grande" (200 grams of aged entrecôte burger with vegetables and aioli), "El Chapo" (two smash patties with smoked chipotle and guacamole), "Crazy Bro" with corned beef slices, and combinations of onion jam and egg salad, crispy chicken, and buffalo-style wings.
Marinado
The veteran meat restaurant in Kibbutz Ein Gev celebrates burgers in its well-known way. That means excellent meat, and lots of it.
You can find here a 350-gram Angus beef burger topped with red cheddar, fried onions, shredded lamb neck, a sunny-side-up egg, chimichurri sauce, corned beef strip in mustard and garlic sauce, and the classic lettuce-tomato-pickled cucumber combination. All this goes into a bun also seasoned with salted butter and is served with fries and a third of a beer for NIS 129, from Tuesday (May 28) until Sunday (June 2).
Simultaneously, Marinado offers a special package with four giant 350-gram burgers and four buns for NIS 149.
On the River, Kinneret
The lovely restaurant in the northern Yardenit complex is also celebrating with a special and inviting burger menu, available for a week (starting Tuesday, May 28).
You can find here a truffle burger (truffle aioli, lettuce, portobello, Parmesan), shallot burger (shallot aioli, arugula, walnuts, brûléed Boursin, crispy shallots), pancetta burger (chipotle aioli, lettuce, pickled onion, tomato, pickled cucumber, lamb pancetta, spicy chili jam), and a beef burger with BBQ sauce, corned beef, and confit garlic.
Gaston
The veteran steakhouse in Airport City celebrates with a meaty special, a regular classic, and much more.
Thus, you'll find here a 250-gram entrecôte and sweetbreads burger with truffle aioli (NIS 124), a "regular" 250-gram burger (NIS 78), and all the meat around—before, after, and during.

Cancun
The excellent food chain is also celebrating, with a well-focused promotion offering three types of patties for home preparation—fresh premium burger (89 NIS per kg), frozen entrecôte burger (NIS 69 per kg), and frozen Nebraska burger (at the same price).
Meatman
The excellent butcher chain celebrates with a package designed for a "dream burger meal."
The package (NIS 250), intended for five hungry diners, includes five burgers, five fresh burger buns, 1.5 kg of frozen fries, bone marrow boat with spicy jam, confit garlic, and truffle mustard.
